Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects according to ISO 14064, quantification of GHG emissions using recognized tools.

Typical Activities

  • Promotion, management, and representations for GHG reduction projects to the various registrars and carbon markets, including the Quebec Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cap-and-Trade System (SPEDE)
  • Quantification of greenhouse gases using recognized computer tools based on the requirements of the ISO 14064-2 Standard Specifications and guidelines at the project level for quantification, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or increases.
  • Audit of greenhouse gas reduction projects by our professionals trained specifically by Environment Canada regarding the requirements of the standard ISO 14064-3 Specifications and Guidelines for the Validation and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Declarations.
  • Research and development projects in the field of agglomeration of projects with low GHG reduction potential.

Some Relevant Projects

  • Inventory, quantification, and development of a GHG quantification protocol issued during the construction phase of a major federal public transport project in the Montreal area. Identification of different GHG compensation opportunities for the construction phase of the project.
  • Inventory and quantification of GHGs associated with stationary and mobile emissions sources at approximately 150 federal sites in eastern Quebec.
  • Assessment and quantification of GHGs for the recycling of various halocarbon-containing equipment in Quebec, including an assessment of the potential return on investment by obtaining carbon credits.
